螺旋榨油机运转时，油料喂入榨油机入料口，进入榨油机内，逐渐顺榨螺进入榨膛，榨螺旋转(利用榨螺螺距旋转的变化)使料胚不断向里推进并进行压榨，在榨膛高压的条件下，料胚和榨螺、榨膛之间产生了很大的摩擦，在油料进入到榨螺上方的加压部位而使油料收到强大的压力，使油料中蛋白质热变性，破坏胶体，增加了塑性，同时也降低了有的粘性容易析出油来，因而提高了榨油机的出油率，使油料中的油压榨出来，油脂则顺着榨油机榨条缝隙流出。螺旋榨油机既适合于单位、小型油厂，又适合于个体现榨现售、对外加工。
