This Mt. Elgon Premiun Black Tea is grown on fields by small scale Tea growers, located in the west of the rift valley on the lower slopes of Mt. Elgon,on the Kenya side at an altitude 1000 to 2000 metres above sea level. The rich fertile volcanic soil and tropical climate are ideal for growing this high quality Black tea. This Tea is nurtured manually (Weeding and prunning), handpicked and skillfully processed. It provides a source of income to the rural communities around the region.
